Welland runs two commercial strips, each with its own BIA: Downtown Welland, and North Welland across the water. A customer searching for you has to guess which side you're on, and half of them will guess wrong, unless the site clears it up in the first screenful.
The canal is part of the pitch, even if you don't sell paddles
The Welland International Flatwater Centre, Concerts on the Canal, and the Welland Farmer's Market are the things Welland residents actually organize their summer around. Any business here can borrow that identity, canal-adjacent or otherwise, just in how the site talks about the town. A generic template site, dropped in from anywhere, reads as exactly that to a local: from somewhere else.
